AUDIO UNABRIDGED VERSION
Reading by Andrea Cagan
Producers One Productions
Music Kristopher Stone
I developed a reading program that allowed my husband, Norm to get
all the way through his favorite books with little frustration. There
are more details about this program in my book, Brainstorming-Life After
Acquired Brain Injury, chapter 16. One part of this program is using
unabridged books on CDs.
When I wrote my book I realized that many of my brain injury survivor
friends would not be able to read it, so I recorded the book on 5 CDs.
There are three distinct features on these CDs.
- Each chapter is on its own track. So if the reader
gets lost it is easier to go back to the beginning of the chapter,
not the beginning of the book.
- The second feature is music, by Kristopher Stone. You will
hear music at the beginning and end of each CD. This tells the reader
that the CD is about to begin and when it is about to end, warning
the reader they should prepare to change to the next CD.
- The third feature is the CDs are unabridged so the
reader can follow along hearing the story as well as reading from
the book. This helped my husband with tracking, not skipping lines
or words, replacing with wrong words, all of which impacted his comprehension.
Book, on 5-discs, unabridged is available at Dora@brainstormingbook.com
